Blog Nº10: My experience writing a blog

Imagen
My experience writing a blog was very good. At the beginning it cost me a little as it is difficult to write about oneself and personal tastes. However with the passage of time I liked to write. One of the blogs that cost me the most is about my favorite writer and about the sources of information that I use the most, since being in the university I use many different sources of information and I read different authors. I find it very appealing to write a blog for an English course, as it tests your writing and you can know more words in English than you knew before. In addition, you can learn about the tastes of your peers and you can learn about their personal tastes, and find out and know other things. It was a very good experience during this semester, although it is a little difficult, it is useful to learn English in another way and in a more entertaining way. It also allows us to practice our writing and reading other blogs. And to you, what did you think about writing a b...

Blog Nº9: My favorite food: Guatitas

Imagen
My favorite food is guatitas. It was hard to decide on a meal, as I eat a lot and like fish, chicken, pasta, beans, and sushi. However, I decided on guatitas. Very few people like guatitas but I love them. Their texture and flavor I find very rich. The preparation I like best is what is known as "guatitas a la jardinera". They are very good with fries or rice. I've been finding out and guatitas are very popular in Ecuador, it's even a typical food from that country. The guatitas are made from beef stomach pieces. It is difficult to admit that I like to eat meat, since many people in the university are vegan or vegetarian, however they have accepted my tastes. I have met very few people who like guatitas, since their texture is a little spongy and therefore chewing them feels strange, however to me they look very good. I can't eat many guatitas since they don't like them in my house, however when I go out to eat I usually try to ask for them. And now, w...

Blog N°8: subjects and social movements

Imagen
This semester at the university I had a subject called "subjects and social movements". The bouquet by name alone seemed very appealing to me, and then as time went by I realized that I liked it very much. The teacher brought to the course several guests representing different social movements, such as the non+afp movement, feminist movement, representatives of socio-environmental conflicts, among others. The idea is to demonstrate how social movements generate demands and articulate themselves so that these are fulfilled, since they are organized people who have discomfort around a specific problem. Social movements are very important, since they are the ones that seek to generate changes in the country based on different demands, and they are the ones that mobilize and call on people to demonstrate against injustices. I think it is very important to have a bunch of social subjects and movements in the social work career, as it shows us another area of work where we can ...

In order to study, I usually search for articles on the university website or on Google academics. They are very useful platforms because I can find different information. I find articles for various branches and that helps me a lot to study. I mainly use Google's academic platform because I search for keywords and find very good articles. A lot of people use Google academy and it is very useful for daily life. Another application that I use a lot is Slack, because with that application I can keep in touch with my work team. With slack I can send and receive information and receive and send messages. Thanks to slack I have received very useful articles for my core work and for my work at university. What is your favorite platform to study? Do you know Google Academic or slack?

Blog post Nº6: my favorite writer

My favorite writer is Isabel Allende, because when I read her books I feel part of history. She was born in 1942 in Lima, Peru, thanks to the marriage between Francisca Llona Barros and diplomat Tomás Allende Pesce, cousin of former president Salvador Allende. At the age of 3, he arrived in Chile after his parents separated, and remained in the country until 1953. Isabel Allende began writing in 1967 thanks to Paula magazine. Since the military dictatorship was installed in Chile, in 1975 Isabel Allende decided to leave the country with her family to Venezuela, where she lived for 13 years. There she began her career as a novelist with the publication of La casa de los espíritus (The House of the Spirits) in 1982. In 2010 she received the national prize for literature, is a narrator and very questioned by critics. Isabel Allende deals with topics related to women, memory, the Latin American imaginary and her own biography. I love reading about Isabel Allende, she is a great...

Post Nº5: Story behind photography

Imagen
I've always wanted to travel and get to know other regions or other countries. However, I still don't have the possibility. One of the most beautiful trips I remember is when we went to the beach with my parents and walked through a craft fair. My brother was very young as shown in the picture and I was 14 years old. At that time my parents were together, but now they are separated. That day we bathed on the beach and walked all day. I made myself a braid and my brother played in the games. It was a very nice summer, I love my family very much and although now they are not together, I see them at 2 and I spend time with my mom and dad. What is the most beautiful trip you remember?
