Blog post Nº6: my favorite writer

My favorite writer is Isabel Allende, because when I read her books I feel part of history.

She was born in 1942 in Lima, Peru, thanks to the marriage between Francisca Llona Barros and diplomat Tomás Allende Pesce, cousin of former president Salvador Allende.

At the age of 3, he arrived in Chile after his parents separated, and remained in the country until 1953.

Isabel Allende began writing in 1967 thanks to Paula magazine.

Since the military dictatorship was installed in Chile, in 1975 Isabel Allende decided to leave the country with her family to Venezuela, where she lived for 13 years. There she began her career as a novelist with the publication of La casa de los espíritus (The House of the Spirits) in 1982.

In 2010 she received the national prize for literature, is a narrator and very questioned by critics. Isabel Allende deals with topics related to women, memory, the Latin American imaginary and her own biography.

I love reading about Isabel Allende, she is a great writer and her books are very interesting.
